Victorians were odd. Have I said that already? Although I picture future historians looking back on our age and thinking, why did everyone take so many pictures of themselves? A narcissistic lot that was.
So I take murder tourists with the same grain of thought and understanding that at the time, this all made sense.
Planning a summer vacation? Plan to visit any notorious murder locations?
Murder tourism was a very popular thing in the Victorian era. Groups would ensemble and take a tour of infamous places where heinous murders occurred. The tours would even end with a souvenir to remember the tour by. It was all very posh and scandalous without allowing the participants to enter any real danger. Just as the Victorians preferred.
