Don’t be fooled by the allure of social media and the promises it makes to engage hundreds of new readers. Your job is to write the next book. The best marketing tool in your arsenal is word of mouth, but readers won’t have anything to talk about if there’s no new book. So manage social media before it manages you, even if it means calling in help. My writing partners are ready and willing to accept new positions in exchange for cheese.
