Have you been checking the WIP bars on my website?
To Save a Viscount, the final installment in the Spy Series, is nearing completion. How “nearing” is it? It’s going off to the editor on Monday! Stay tuned for a release date, because it will be coming soon!
In the News: Amazon Offers All You Can Read Book Buffet
Again, in case you’ve been living under a rock, Amazon recently announced an all you can read service called Kindle Unlimited. While this was news enough, the digital book world is abuzz with the ramifications of this new service on Amazon’s bestsellers lists. Only certain books are included in this service, and Amazon is counting the borrows of books from this program toward bestseller lists. What does this mean? Books not included in Kindle Unlimited are suffering due to exclusion. Who does this affect? Self-published authors who do not exclusively publish with Amazon. Why is this bad? Self-published authors face steep challenges as it is for exposure in Amazon’s algorithms. This is just another brick wall to climb, knock down or blow up. But for readers who devour books, Kindle Unlimited is pretty awesome. As an indie author who does not publish exclusively with Amazon because I believe in providing more platforms for my readers to obtain my books, I simply encourage readers to remember that there’s more than Amazon out there.
Blog to Follow: Exquisite Quills
This is actually a blog that I actively participate in, and one which goes way outside the norm. Nearly every day of the week, the hosts of Exquisite Quills post something on which authors can contribute comments about their own books. With themes like Wash Line Monday or Teaser Tuesday, authors enter snippets about their own books and how it pertains to that day’s theme. It’s an organic amalgamation of your new favorite books. What’s not to love?
The Week in Social Media: Giveaway (Again!), Girls in Corsets, and Help from my Writing Partners
We can’t always be on every social media site every day of the week, so here I share some highlights from my week in social media. Click on the image to follow the link in the post!
Have I mentioned this yet?
And this is just hilarious, and as a historical writer myself, I can relate!
And I’m not making this up.
