Today I welcome historical romance novelist Sherry Ewing to the Friday Fast 5!
Do you cast people to play the characters in your stories?
I laughed when I read this because my daughter asks me this all the time. She’s begun to fill my Pinterest board for my books with actors she thinks should play my characters.
What is on the top of your to be read pile?
I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban. I am part of a group of Regency era authors called the Bluestocking Belles. The Malala Fund is our mutual charity where we will donate proceeds from special joint projects. This book will be our first book club chat in May.
If you could chose a period in history to be born in, what would it be and why?
This would be a hard one for me to choose since I write about the 12th century and Regency era’s. I’d like to say medieval England but knowing my luck, instead of being the lady of the castle, I’d be the serf cleaning the garderobe.
What was the best movie you saw in the past year and why?
The Theory of Everything was a wonderful movie about the strength and journey of one man to overcome his disabilities. A true genius of our time, Stephen Hawkings is an inspiration to everyone and proves that even if the body fails, the mind is a terrible thing to waste.
What is your favorite part of writing?
I get a huge amount of satisfaction when I’m reading my work and I suddenly begin to cry. If I can get that kind of a reaction from myself over something I’ve created, then I know my readers will be just as affected.
Don’t Miss Only for You
Sometimes it’s hard to remember that true love conquers all only after the battle is over…
Katherine de Deveraux has it all or so she believes when she begins her life with her husband Riorden. But as she starts to settle into her duties as the Countess of Warkworth Castle, she finds that an easy life is not only difficult but downright dangerous to her well-being.
Consumed with the haunting memories of his father, Riorden must deal with his sire’s widow who just happens to also be his ex-lover. Yet how could he know just how far Marguerite is willing to go in order to have the life she feels they were truly meant to live?
Torn apart by circumstances neither Katherine nor Riorden could ever imagine, Time becomes their true enemy even while Marguerite continues her ploy to keep Riorden at her side. With all hope lost, will Katherine and Riorden find a way to save their marriage and have their happily ever after ending, or will Katherine be whisked back to where Time truly feels she belongs?
